Aggie baseball pounds Sacred Heart

The New Mexico State Aggie baseball team pounded Sacred Heart in the two teams' doubleheader on Saturday, winning Game 1 21-3 and then Game 2 23-11.

Designated hitter Cody Edwards had a particularly big day, hitting for the cycle and driving in 11 runs, one off the school record put up by Cory Smith in 1997.

Game 1 of the doubleheader saw NMSU score 19 runs in the bottom of the second inning.

The four-game series will wrap up today with a 2 p.m. game at Presley Askew Field.

NMSU won the series opener on Friday 11-6 and is now 6-3 on the season.
