With so many rumors about Google's next Nexus smartphone,?due this month, our heads are?starting to hurt. Though there have been many conflicting guesses as to who would make the Google-branded device, a batch of leaked images now?suggests the device will be made by LG.
The folks at AndroidCentral were among those who got their hands on the images showing?a mystery device described as an LG-E960. The gadget looks like?a cross between the LG?Optimus G and the current Samsung?Galaxy Nexus.
A photo which shows the device's "About" page suggests that it is running a stock version of Android 4.1.2.?Not much is known about the device beyond that (other than what could be cobbled together from frequently contradicting rumors, of course).
The leaked images show a device which has "an all-glass front, curved design and textured back," explains AndroidCentral's Alex Dobie. The phone's battery doesn't appear to be removable nor does there seem to be a microSD card slot. (Of course, the device shown in the photos is certainly prototype hardware, so there could be plenty of changes before the final product hits shelves. )
It is likely that we won't have to wait long before we find out what's fact and what's fiction when it comes to the next Nexus phone though.?Since about a year has passed since Samsung and Google unveiled the Galaxy Nexus, it is expected that the next Nexus-branded smartphone will make an official appearance sometime this month.
Until that happens, we'll just have to stock up on aspirin to surpress all the headaches induced by conflicting and overabundant rumors.
