Q: I live in Fullerton CA.
1. Should a house have a garage?
2. What if I want to tear down the garage that is in the front of the office and make it a kitchen and not have a garage?
3. How much away from the sidewalk/street we can build?
?George, Fullerton, CA
A: In my experience, all buyers I have worked with want at lease a 2-car garage. It?s likely you will have some buyers who will not consider your home without a garage. In my area, the front of the house cannot extend beyond the front of the other homes on the block. To be sure, your contractor will get permits and the city will let your contractor know the building boundaries.
